06.11.09: General Levy & Mc Navigator

Another dubsession coming up:
General Levy & Mc Navigator

General Levy - www.myspace.com/wwwmyspacecomgenerallevy
General Levy is a true veteran of the UK urban music scene.
He released his first album entitled Double Trouble in 1992 which was collaboration with Jamaican superstar Capleton which confirmed Levy’s arrival on the international reggae circuit.
His second album ‘Wickeder General’ was voted best reggae album for 1992.
In spring 1994, Levy was approached by independent jungle label Renk Records to collaborate with hot jungle producer M Beat who had already established himself in the underground jungle arena. The collaboration was a success and the track ‘Incredible’ was unleashed June 1994 causing a massive storm on the underground and went on to achieve top ten status in the national mainstream charts bringing the track worldwide acclaim as one of the biggest jungle tunes on the dance floor.
Since then General Levy has gone on to work with various producers such as Sly & Robbie and Sting International, Shaggy, Steelie & Cleevie, Artful Dodger, Jetstar, Ajang, Joe Grind, Gussie P, Stingray, Heartical Records, to name but a few. Levy remains a Lionheart artist riding through the ups and downs of the music business and still maintaining focus, a love and joy for the business and people; and just like a fine wine getting even better with time and bringing the fire to any place he performs at!

Mc Navigator - www.myspace.com/mcnavigator
Navi, as he is affectionately known has over a quarter century experience in music.
He started out and trained his vocal skills on the UK Reggae Dance Hall circuit. Throughout the 1980s he hosted and performed on local N.E. London sound systems before deciding to move into Dance Music in the 90s.
Joining the now legendary pirate radio station Kool FM in 1993 led to a break in the burgeoning Jungle scene, this also enhanced the development of his live, studio and hosting performances.
He then went on to become and still is one of the most forefront MCs in Jungle/Drum & Bass.
The following years 94-99 saw Navi releasing several hit singles on the DnB & Breakbeat scenes with people like, D*Note (Criminal Justice & Inequity Worker), Asian Dub Foundation (Culture Move, Power to the Small Massive) and also Freestylers (Ruffneck, Warning & Get down Massive) to mention few. These timeless releases led to credible critical acclaim and success worldwide.
In 2000 he jointly formed Rawhill Cru in Germany; resulting in the mega DnB dance floor smash hit Mo Fire released on Bad Company Recordings in March 2003. Remixed by renowned Drum and Bass producers Fresh (Breakbeat Kaos) and Andy C (RAM) the track reportedly sold over 40,000.
Since then he has recorded a number of other tracks with Roni Size, Krust, Jumpin Jack Frost, Die and Clipz.
His album promises to be the most outstanding material Navigator has recorded to date, heralding as a landmark MC contribution to the Jungle/DnB scene.
