It’s been a while since our last news – and a whole lot has been going on over here since then, so we’ve got lots to tell you, but we’ll keep it brief – don’t wanna bore ya & there’s always heaps more at the website for you to digest!
1. JOHN B COMPILES AND MIXES ‘TRANCE & BASS’ MIXMAG COVERMOUNT DJ_MIX CD
It’s got lots of trance-influenced D&B tracks from John B, Concord Dawn, Klute, C4C & more. Enuff said. It’s the issue with the yellow cover and picture of a naughty policewoman on the front, checkitout!
2. ONLINE FLASH VIDEO FOR JOHN B’s NEW “AMERICAN GIRLS” TRACK
Hilarious electropimp animated D&B biznizz! Have a look at www.american-girls.co.uk and you’ll see what we mean. A cartoon John B decked out all 80s NuRomantic stylee, accompanied by some tasty American Ladies in Stars and Stripes bikinis. It’s already been viewed more than 60,000 times in the last month, and got to number 1 in the lycos.co.uk viral charts. Whohoo! (Oh and don’t worry, its not pornographic – but John’s hair IS rather offensive...).
3. BETA LAUNCHES NEW ELECTROCLASH80sSYNTHOP-MEETS-DRUM&BASS LABEL “NU_ELECTRO”
The first release ‘American Girls’ has been causing quite a stir already – due out on 18 Nov.
Nu Electro is a more Leftfield addition to the Beta Recordings Group of labels aiming to specialise in Drum & Bass and Breakbeat music heavily influenced by all things Electro, 80s, New Romantic, Synthpop & RoboPunk – (whatever that is).

7. DBA vs. JOHN B - “FALLING” - GENRE-DEFINING TRANCE/DRUM&BASS HYBRID PROJECT
John B has teamed up with big trance act ‘DBA’ to work on a new D&B/Euphoric Trance crossover project. Their first track ‘Falling’ is already getting excellent feedback on the underground; Beta will be releasing the original mix and John B’s Epic Killah D&B mix in Feb 2003, and DBA’s Euphoric trance mix will be released simultaneously on Howard Jones’ Dtox Label. 11. WEBSITE UPDATES
We’re launching a whole big bunch of updates on Nov 1st – brand new audio section, updated Discography and John B Biography, brand new Club Photos section full of crazy snaps from John’s touring adventures, and there’s already a new flash intro. We’re working on getting an online store up and running too, but that’ll be later, around January 2003, as will be new microsites for the individual sublabels, and some artists. John B’s infamous online webjournal-style diary is still getting the regular updates so feel free to stalk away...
