Hier mal ne kleine Bio über XRS und ein paar Soundfiles zu seinen Tunes:

Xerxes de Oliveira started producing in the beginning of the 90's, influenced by late 80's electronic music such as acid house and techno/hardcore stuff. After that in 1993, he started his work as a DJ in a very eclectic club, called Aeroanta, where he played musical styles from the dub reggae to Trash metal (!!!). In the studio, Xerxes target was the Jungle/hardcore, and he developed his first project with very underground tracks such as Boom-man and Power to the people, played by brazilian Drum'n'bass Djs such as Andy, Marky and Patife.

After that, in 1995 Xerxes started his label, Innerground, alongside DJ Ramilson Maia, and through this label he releases his first EP, called "From the Land to the City" under the project name XRS Land. The EP gained respect inside the scene and was pushed by DJ's on the dancefloor, earning reviews from all of them and even one from a french magazine called Coda which appointed Xerxes as "a promise in the brazilian electronic scene".

Xerxes keeps Dj'ing and in 1998 he started alongside his wife, Paula, another project, Friendtronik, with a harder and more experimental approach to brazilian drum'n'bass. Once again it was massive on the dancefloors, and Friendtronik releases its debut album, "friendtronik@periferia.com.zl" by Sony/MMM, being very well accepted and played by renowned brazilian DJ's.

In 1999, Xerxes joins the newly created label Sambaloco Records (http://www.sambaloco.com.br/site/eng/) , with his 'XRS Land' project, and in XRS first album, "Sarau" he blends his musical influences with drum'n'bass & jazzy/bossa nova vibes. Patife included 2 of the XRS Land's tracks in to his mix anthology, called "Sounds of the Drum'n'bass"; "The Secrets of Floating Island", one of the XRS Land's tracks included in becomes a groundbreaking tune, being later released also in an EP from the UK label V Recordings, the "Brasil EP", alongside Fernanda Porto and DJs Marky & Patife.

In the present, Xerxes is very busy at the studio with some brand new tracks from XRS Land + the friends Rael Gimenes & Luis Felipe de Oliveira from the Spin Notes, and others together with DJ Marky, in a new coming project, called "SP Kollective". One of these tracks, "LK" is already being appointed as one of the best tunes in the european summer.
